When my parents were in town a few weeks ago, we FINALLY finished up installing the new windows. My dad, mom, and Wendi did the front of the house during the week and I was able to do the backs with my dad on the weekend.

It’s a been a few weeks now and the results are so unbelievable. The old windows were the original 1972 single pane aluminum frame garbage cans. I literally sealed them shut in the winter with removable caulk and even then you would experience winter’s cool breeze on your neck if you sat in the living room by the window.

The whole place is brighter and feels much more open. The best part is that the whole deal only ended up costing about $1400 and the cheapest quote I got when I was pulsing the market was $3500. I love saving money!

It’s 1:38a.m. and I can’t sleep. Wendi is at a bachelorette party in Boston and I met up at coworker’s place tonight for dinner and drinks. On the way home I was restless and decided to take a walk down at the green in town. I snapped a couple shots:

Yes, we are that couple that saves the cake top and eats it a year later. My Matron of Honor, Alicia, generously made us our delicious strawberry filled three tier wedding cake exactly one year ago on June 23! We kept it in the freezer to eat at our one year anniversary.  I am relieved that I have space in my freezer again.

Ah…the question, how did it taste? Not terrible, just weird to eat it one year later. We ate that itty bitty sliver. But hey, I am a firm believer in all that good luck stuff, like don’t wear your wedding band before your married, kiss on New Year’s Eve, don’t mention your pregnant until three months….etc.  So yeah…I saved the cake top for luck!

Can you believe a year has gone by? It still feels so fresh for those who came to the wedding. For me, it feels like it’s been 60 years (just kidding Wendi )

We headed up to Cape Cod this weekend to stay at a little bed and breakfast, relax, and enjoy our 1st year anniversary.

It was a blast.
