***UPDATED***
—–Life CHANGING experience #00004—–
The dangers of blizzards is that the high winds make it extremely hard to predict if you may become victim to a ‘BLIZZARD DRIFT’! These phenomenon’s occur when wind speeds pick up rapidly and push snow by the feet to pile up against the nearest solid object the snow comes accross. Many an unsuspecting person has been tragically killed when standing outside and suddenly finding themselves right in the path of one these ‘blizzard drifts’. Not until today has ANYONE ever caught this phenomenon on camera. I was outside enjoying a Corona when all of the sudden the wind picked up. The snow accumlated at my feet, not by the inch, but by the feet. I turned to run, but it was too late. I fell. The patio door was closed and my face pressed firmly against it. The oxygen levels sank in the snow ‘tunnel’ I was able to create. As I drifted in and out of consciousness and my life played out in my mind…all I could keep thinking was,
“How in the hell am I gonna get that beer into my mouth?”“>“How in the hell am I gonna get that beer into my mouth?”

I seem to be a magnet for natural disasters lately. We are in the middle of a blizzard up in the Northeast and this thing is not messing around. The mayor has been on TV all morning urging people to stay in and also urging schools and businesses not open TOMORROW (It’s only 9a.m.? Sunday).
Before I passed out last night I managed to snap this shot of my back door:

***The snow is already a couple feet deep.***
I awoke this morning, a prisoner in my own home…

***A few feet at the back door…and a quick glance out the windows shows more of the same***
But wait. Who uses a back door anyways (no jokes please)? I’ll just head out front…

***Five feet deep aint got nuttin on me***

The house is surrounded with five feet of snow. Sustained winds are 60 mph…they make a huge deal outta the wind speeds on TV. After Hurricane Ivan, 60 mph is a dream. I’m going sledding – LATER
